Munich Re has announced that Andrew Buchanan will join them as their Chief Risk Officer for the UK, Australian and South African Life markets. Andrew will start the role from the beginning of September. Andrew joins from Prudential plc where he is the Head of Risk Oversight. Prior to Prudential, Andrew spent about seven years at Oliver Wyman Financial Services, where he worked for a wide variety of insurance groups globally, focussing on areas of interest to the CRO and CFO, such as Solvency II, Economic Capital, Risk Appetite and Risk-adjusted performance management. Andrew began his career as a product actuary at Old Mutual South Africa.
